If the guest doesn't come to the bar, then the bar comes to the guest: this is the motto at the boutique hotel Volkshaus Basel, where drinks are now served between the sheets and not just in the hotel's own "Imi Bar". Every Thursday to Saturday from 5.45 pm to 7 pm, trained staff push a well-stocked and beautifully arranged bar trolley from room to room, stopping wherever the door opens. The bar on wheels offers beer, white and red wine, champagne, cola and kombucha, as well as snacks such as nuts and popcorn.
The "Flying Bar Chef's" recommendations include the Volkshaus Negroni and the Volkshaus Dry Martini, which feature locally produced gin and vermouth from the Basel distillery Gryff and wine from the Jauslin winery in Basel. The drinks are served on a beautifully designed wooden tray in the rooms. What has been ordered can easily
be written on the tray. If you would like a refill for the bar at home, you can buy one at reception.
