Loyalty Programs in the Hospitality Industry: Opportunities and Challenges

Loyalty programs strengthen customer loyalty, offer guests personalized experiences, and increase satisfaction. International hotel chains use them to reward guests and save on commissions to booking portals. 



According to Carolin Brauer, Managing Director of QR Quality Reservations, loyalty 

programs are essential for brand strengthening and customer retention. They enable hotels 

to address guests individually and make their stay more pleasant. Additionally, loyalty 

programs are gaining value through partnerships, such as between Marriott and Emirates or Accor and airlines. 


However, caution is advised: Not every partnership actually brings added value to the 

hotel group.
