The new NH Collection Frankfurt Spin Tower recently opened in Frankfurt's Europaviertel district. New York coolness was the inspiration not only for the interior look, but also for the imposing architecture.
The aha effect begins from afar at the NH Collection Spin Tower. A slight rotation of the floor plans provides a visual separation of the upper floors from the rest of the high-rise and gives the 128-meter hybrid tower its name: The Spin, in German "Die Drehung." The building's striking form was penned by renowned Hamburg architect Hadi Teherani.
What is not apparent at first glance: the double facade of the high-rise building with integrated solar shading features a cavity between the two panes, which acts as thermal insulation. The building owner of the 31-story tower is the Frankfurt-based
property development company Groß & Partner. The hotel is housed on the lower 20 floors, while above the "Spin" are ten office floors and a roof-top terrace for the office tenants.
The law firm Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein (ASD) has been secured as a tenant for the 3,000 square meters of office space. Negotiations are still underway with another major tenant. The owner of the tower is a consortium of pension funds from Hanover, which had already acquired the property in a forward purchase in 2019.
